The DS Lite is an upgraded version of the original DS. After the original DS proved to be successful in the market, Nintendo started to pay attention towards the feed backs of the original DS customers. This way Nintendo got its input for developing a new handheld gaming console with more advanced features and capabilities keeping the basic design of the original DS as it is (because it was highly appreciated in the market). So, the company came up with a new portable gaming console named as DS Lite. This console has all the basic features of the original DS like dual screen, compact body etc. as well as its own new set of properties. The major difference between DS and DS Lite is of the weight and the volume. DS Lite is 21% lighter than the original DS and its volume has been reduced by 42% which makes it more comfortable to carry and hold. The battery of DS Lite takes one hour less than the battery of the original DS to get fully recharged. It also lasts more than the old battery offering you more uninterrupted playing hours as the processor of DS Lite has been completely redesigned to make it less power hungry. There are other miscellaneous upgrades such as longer stylus, improved brightness of both the screens, new colors etc. which makes DS Lite the next generation portable gaming device.
