PlayStation Network gets more than 20 Million Registered Accounts

Sony is proud to announce that the total number of registered accounts for the PlayStation Network has exceeded 20 million as of 20th Feb, 2009. This clearly shows how popular the PlayStation Network is getting day by day. The PlayStation Network is continuously receiving more and more registrations and thus it has now become a robust network business platform.

PlayStation Network is basically a free network service offered to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable owners. It has got huge library of multimedia stuff including online games, movies, videos and much more. The PlayStation Network also provides real time chatting, online games like Warhawk, and text messaging services and is directly accessible via PS3, PSP and PC. To offer more fun the Sony Entertainment continuously updates the network’s stuff. The company is enhancing the gaming experience by introducing new features to online gaming such as online battle and team play and adding more and more downloadable game items.

The PlayStation Network has got all the main attractions including the PlayStation Store and the PlayStation Home application. The former offers more than 14,500 diverse digital content such as online games, downloadable UMD titles etc. The latter one, i.e. PlayStation Home has proved itself as a groundbreaking 3D application where PS3 users can meet with each other to share their experiences and create their own virtual space. The PlayStation Network is continually growing as a fast pace and the company expects further increase in the number of registered accounts.
