By Audrey • Feb 26th, 2009 • Category: Video Games ConsolesWe all are familiar with video games. These are the graphical simulations that make almost everybody feel relaxed, happy and help to refurbish our spirits. The concept of getting entertained via video games is not new but in its initial days the mankind never expected such simulations gaining importance over about everything else. As the video games are getting more and more impressive the people are getting addicted to it. New generation video games are no longer a simple blurred pixel application. Instead they appear more realistic than our surroundings, much sharper than a DVD movie and much more fascinating than an amusement park.
Research shows that people demand gaming titles more than anything else. In 2008 British gamers bought 82.8m titles (a 26% increase as compared to game sales in 2007) and the boom is expected to rise further this year. The UK is now the second biggest games market of the world, second only to America. Hi-Fi gaming consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox 360, Wii etc. plays an important role in inviting more and more people for trying out latest releases. Game developers are speedily capitalising not only because of high-end graphics but due to the extra features they are putting into their titles. Features such as multiplayer mode, online gaming, sequels of the original titles etc. keeps hardcore gamers go on and on. Game developers now always take care that the gamers should not loose their interest at any point.
Apart from the software development, the enhanced game hardware too contributes to the game addiction. For instance the Nintendo Wii Fit has got such hardware with its Nintendo Wii Remote and Balance Board, that offers gaming and physical exercise simultaneousl; thereby adding a new level of realism. Besides this, the amalgamation of Dolby Surround sound technology and video games offers a whole new gaming experience.
