Sansa SlotRadio Player Preloaded with 1000 Songs

By Luke • Feb 6th, 2009 • Category: MP3 Players

SanDisk, the company known for its top notch acoustic products has decided to launch the new Sansa SlotRadio portable MP3 player that will come preloaded with a slot music card (the special SD card) containing 1000 songs. The Sandisk company is now targeting those who don’t have time to download music files via Internet or rip their own CDs. The preloaded music player is expected to hit the markets in March 2009.

All the 1000 songs are locked to the card. The users neither coy them nor they can play it on any other player other than a slotRadio player or on Sansa Fuze players (that will be launched in the first quarter this year). The future Fuze players will also be compatible with the SanDisk’s song locking technology. However the songs selected by the company are too good and there is rarely any chance of replacing them. All the songs are taken from Billboard magazine’s lists of top-charted songs and cover almost every genre.

The preloaded MP3 player will be launched in March. It will be available at Sansa.com, Sandisk.com and on more than 4500 RadioShack stores. “SlotRadio’s unprecedented simplicity will have even the most time-pressed music fans enjoying a huge range of music in no time. 1,000 handpicked songs in your pocket with zero downloads makes enjoying digital music easier than ever”, says Daniel Schreiber, senior VP/GM for SanDisk.

Slot Music from SanDisk is Replacing CDs

By Jason • Jan 20th, 2009 • Category: Industry News

Slot Music was introduced by SanDisk last year. It was a revolution in the acoustic world. It was something that was never introduced earlier. Sandisk’s Slot Music offered memory cards as the primary devices for users to store all their music files. There was no need to maintain CDs, DVDs or other optical storage medium anymore.

Within few months this technology has gained so much importance that it is likely to replace CDs and other optical storage completely. More and more music vendors are now turning their heads towards the development of slot music cards. There are two main benefits of using slot music. The music cards, like the Sandisk microSD card 2  GB, are ultra-thin and save lots of space. Besides this, these cards are the most portable medium to carry data and audio/video files. One can grab high capacity cards offering gigabytes of storage. You can use them with any compatible music player, mobile phone, PMP, DAP, portable MP3 players and similar devices.

However, earlier it was questionable whether this technology will beat the CD storage or not, but now there is no doubt regarding to that. People today prefer all those devices that can offer portability, functionality and mobility and the slot music cards do provide this all in a far better way than the legacy storage mediums.
