Asus N80Vc: More Power for More Entertainment

The ASUSTeK Computer company has unveiled its new sub-notebook named N80Vc. This one has got great display capabilities, impressive processing speed and awesome sound quality. Asus is known for its Eee PC range of sub-notebooks because of the performance they offer. The N80Vc takes the portable computing to the next higher level and is aimed at those who don’t want to compromise with performance for style.

The Asus has installed an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor plus a 3GB RAM in the device to enable high speed multi-tasking, glitch free gaming and smooth video transitions. You can watch high definition movies in full 1080p on its large 14 inch widescreen. The company has also packed an Nvidia Geforce 9300M GS graphics card with 512MB dedicated VRAM that makes it easier to enjoy DirectX 10 games on the go. Storage option too is impressive. The N80Vc sports a 320GB hard disk drive and there are variety of connectivity options including USB, WiFi and more.

Unfortunately, this device also suffers from some downsides. Because of its 14 inch widescreen display it becomes hefty and dimensionally big. The Asus N80VC’s screen is also reflective. So, you just can’t use it under direct sunlight or at any other place that is lit with loads of lights.

Toshiba Qosmio X305: Impressive Gaming Laptop

CES 2009 Overview: A Look at the Highlights

CES or the Consumer Electronics Show is one of the most popular trade shows held in Las Vegas. This year, the show was held between January 8th and 11th. Prominent companies feature all their latest products here. Reporters from all over cover this show which features the latest technological advancements in every electronic product segment. Thousands of products set for release are previewed for the benefit of the public.

The CES 2009 was no exception. A wide range of products were featured by a host of companies from all over the world. One significant aspect this year was the fall in the attendance strength as compared to previous years. However, the convention center in Las Vegas and the other venues such as suites, hotels, etc were filled with the latest unique and cool products.

One of the prominent and interesting booths was Intel’s, which featured a whole lot of demos such as MIDs, netbooks based on Atom, Centrino 2 notebooks, WiMax, Core i7 gaming, etc. The eyecatcher here was certainly the Atom Processor powered Classmate PC netbook from Intel, which can easily rival established models, like the Asus Eee PC 904 HD, with its many impressive performance features. With its rotating screen, the Intel Classmate PC even doubles up as a tablet PC. Deep Viewer is one of their new applications which were also demonstrated here.

NVidia displayed various items in their booth which had other partners too. Items on display here include the 3D glasses, GeForce graphics cards and the Ion SFF platform. An interesting upcoming product featured here is the BFG Phobos system. Phobos systems are Intel processors powered and priced at $3000m $5000 and $ 8000 based on the service level and configuration options.

Apart from these, other prominent products displayed here include LG’s OLED TVs and LED TVS. Wireless charging was showcased by companies like Fulton Innovation. One of the most popular advanced features which created a flutter is the Internet connectivity for televisions. Yahoo was the leader here giving out details of their plans to tie up with companies like Vizio, Toshiba, LG, Sony, Samsung, etc.

HTC to Roll Out Nvidia Tegra Based Smartphones

HTC, one of the world’s leading makers of sophisticated smartphones, is expected to use Nvidia Tegra system-on-chip (SoC) in its new smartphone that is to be launched in the second half of 2009. The Nvidia Tegra system-on-chip (SoC) was launched in June last year but initially it did not gained much success, although the company was expecting its adoption by major smartphone makers by the end of 2008.

But now the HTC seems to utilize it to make a better and versatile smartphone. Nvidia Tegra 600-series SoCs offers an ARM11 CPU, GeForce graphics with programmable pixel shader and programmable vertex shader support, build-in low-power DDR memory controller, NAND flash memory controller, high-definition video processor supporting MPEG 4, H.264, VC-1/WMV9 decoding, H.264 and MPEG4 encoding and other options and capabilities. This represents a huge improvement over what is currently offered by even very high-end HTC mobiles, like the HTC Touch HD. The new technology will also support dual displays, 12 mega pixel camera sensor, USB connectivity, Parallel ATA and variety of display outputs such as HDMI.

This clearly shows the capabilities the future smartphones will possess. HTC’s yet to launch newbie will offer unprecedented performance with regards to display quality, graphics processing, application processing and much more. From the end users perspective, the new smartphone will be a snappy n speedy device that will not only offer high-tech communication but also arrest everyone’s attention because of its mesmerising effects.
