Memorex has unveiled its first touch screen Portable Media Player (PMP) called TouchMP. It’s a stylish portable digital entertainer that offers easy to use functions and quality sound and video. The main attraction of the TouchMP is its intuitive touch screen that makes the UI very interesting and interactive.

The TouchMP sports a gigantic 8GB of memory that can hold thousands of songs, photos and videos. So, if you are seriously hunting for a great travel companion to enjoy and share digital files with, then the TouchMP is the ideal portable gadget. Furthermore, the TouchMP PMP can play WMV, MPEG-4 and AVI video files. For audio you can load it with MP3, WMA and WAV files and view JPEG images on it. A software is also supplied along with the base unit that can be used to convert other file formats to the one that the TouchMP supports.

Jessica Walton, Memorex global brand director commented, “The TouchMP digital media player puts entertainment and favourite memories at your fingertips, packing tremendous value into this little touch screen device. The Memorex TouchMP is a great way to store and share photos and videos when visiting friends and family, or to sit back and enjoy your own personal playlist. A custom user interface makes it easy to navigate and quickly enjoy media files no matter what type of content you are playing.”

iRiver Lplayer 8GB MP3 player distinguishes itself from the Crowd

By Jason • Dec 29th, 2008 • Category: MP3 Players

iriver-l-player-mp3-player-audio-music

iRiver’s Lplayer comes closely following the disappointing performance of the E100. Released this year in the UK market, this device is designed well and small in size.

The moment you look at the MP3 player, the first thought that comes to your mind is how is it possible without controls? The dimensions of the iRiver L-Player 8GB are just 60×43x13mm. The tiny screen measures just two inches and 320×240 pixels. In fact, there is hardly any space left when you subtract the size of the screen.

Now, we come to the interesting part. Controls can be accessed by pushing down one of the four screen edges. The screen is in fact, skillfully mounted on top of the pressure pad which is four-way. Even the weight of the device competes with some of the lightest models in the market.

Conventional on/off switch can be found at the bottom of the device. Volume control is interestingly featured as a key lock slider at the back. The iRiver Lplayer 8GB MP3 player is ideal for everyday use. In order to protect the player from accidental activation due to bumps and knocks, the command buttons have to be given a hard push for the arrow flash accepting the command to appear on the screen.

You can actually zip around song lists and menus effortlessly once you become adept at the controls. This player supports various formats, as with all iRiver devices including WMA, MP3, ASF, Ogg, Flac, etc for audio and WMV, MPEG4 and Xvid for video.

Overall, this is undoubtedly one of the most interesting MP3 players currently on the market.
