Casio EX-FC100: Powerful Compact Digital Camera unveiled at the CES 2009

By Audrey • Jan 23rd, 2009 • Category: Digital Cameras

Casio has launched its compact camera, the EX-FC100, at the Consumer Electronic Show at Las Vegas. This is the latest from the Casio stables after it launched the RX-F1 and Casio EX-FH20 a year back in 2008. The Casio RX-F1 had the superb capability of capturing shots at up 60 frames per second and was a rage in the digital camera world. It was, however, slightly big but professionals didn’t mind the size as they were able to shoot faster.
The Casio EX-FC100 digital camera looks like any other compact camera and sports some rather impressive features.

The EX-FC100 comes with a 2.7-inch compact screen, a 5-x zoom with a 9-megapixel resolution sensor. The camera has a number of buttons, which help you with many functions. You can browse the menu system, playback images or even video to view what you have captured on the camera lens. Meanwhile, using the toggle wheel helps you to select a video or still image capture.

At the top of the screen, users will find a button labeled “Slow” which actually allows you to slow down the action appearing on your screen. You can watch real time action at a slower pace. This feature helps you to slow down time to capture magically the perfect moment of any action for posterity.

The Casio EX-FC100 allows users to capture up to 30 frames per second while in still mode at 6-megapixels, and you can capture up to 1000 frames per second 720p HD movies. However, it can only shoot still photos at a maximum of 9 megapixels, which is a lower resolution than the Casio Exilim EX-Z1200’s 12 megapixels, for example. Nevertheless, the EX-FC100 continues to astound its users and all these great features are available simply with the press of a single button on the camera.

CES 2009: Wallet Friendly MP3 Player from Walletex

By Luke • Jan 13th, 2009 • Category: MP3 Players

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2009 is unveiling amazing entertainment gadgets each day and the wallet sized MP3 player is currently the king of all the MP3 players being displayed there, in terms of appearance. Innovated by Walletex, this MP3 player is the world’s slimmest, smallest and lightest music machine. Its aesthetics are simply unbelievable. It looks exactly like a credit card and can easily fit into your wallet.

The wallet sized MP3 player is technology at its best. Available in capacities up to 8GB this MP3 player is a real head turner, and amazingly enough reminds one of a flash drive like the Sandisk Cruzer Micro Skin 4G, except that the Walletex creation is actually an MP3 player . Now you don’t have to worry about carrying those legacy hefty music players that are more of a headache than entertaining devices. The wallet sized MP3 player is fully functional and customisable. The best thing is that you can craft and send your own design, print and shades and the Walletex will print that right on the card, the MP3 player. The MP3 player is easy to operate and convenient to carry along anywhere you want. All you need is a niche space in your wallet or pocket. Although the wallet sized MP3 player is somewhat like the credit cards it is not vulnerable to cracks, bends or and other kind of wear and tear. It is made of double laminated unbreakable plastic that offers a durable platform.

The wallet sized player has got some basic controls such as play/pause, forward, rewind and volume buttons. Sound quality is outstanding and the supplied ear buds are comfortable to wear. The only missing feature is a LCD display that could have deteriorated the wallet sized form factor of the player if included.

Sansa slotRadio MP3 Player: Eliminates the Middle Men

By Luke • Jan 13th, 2009 • Category: MP3 Players

SanDisk has recently rolled out its new Sansa slotRadio MP3 player that is based on Slot Music technology at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2009. Now you can easily get rid of downloading music files and purchasing MP3s. The slotRadio MP3 player uses a special memory card that is pre-loaded with music files. It simply eliminates the need of middle men selling music files either online or at retail stores.

You don’t have to follow the old custom, i.e. buy or download the music files, store them on the PC and finally transfer it to the music player; like you would have to do with the Sandisk Sansa Fuze 8GB, for example. This not only makes it easy to grab the music but also saves lots of time that is wasted in downloading, organising and transferring the music. All you have to do is get a Sansa slotRadio MP3 player and hunt for music cards that are ultra-small in size and easy to store and carry along. The player already comes with a card loaded with 1,000 popular songs. The on board memory of the player is kept low as all the data is essentially stored on the music cards.

The Slot Music is a new technology growing at a fast pace. As it immediately let the user load the music player with thousands of songs the MP3 discs and online music download are getting less popular day by day. The Sansa slotRadio comes with a 1.5 OLED screen, an FM radio, and a belt clip. The sound quality too is excellent that makes it one of the best buys at the CES this year.
