Casio EX-FC100: Powerful Compact Digital Camera unveiled at the CES 2009

By Audrey • Jan 23rd, 2009 • Category: Digital Cameras

Casio has launched its compact camera, the EX-FC100, at the Consumer Electronic Show at Las Vegas. This is the latest from the Casio stables after it launched the RX-F1 and Casio EX-FH20 a year back in 2008. The Casio RX-F1 had the superb capability of capturing shots at up 60 frames per second and was a rage in the digital camera world. It was, however, slightly big but professionals didn’t mind the size as they were able to shoot faster.
The Casio EX-FC100 digital camera looks like any other compact camera and sports some rather impressive features.

The EX-FC100 comes with a 2.7-inch compact screen, a 5-x zoom with a 9-megapixel resolution sensor. The camera has a number of buttons, which help you with many functions. You can browse the menu system, playback images or even video to view what you have captured on the camera lens. Meanwhile, using the toggle wheel helps you to select a video or still image capture.

At the top of the screen, users will find a button labeled “Slow” which actually allows you to slow down the action appearing on your screen. You can watch real time action at a slower pace. This feature helps you to slow down time to capture magically the perfect moment of any action for posterity.

The Casio EX-FC100 allows users to capture up to 30 frames per second while in still mode at 6-megapixels, and you can capture up to 1000 frames per second 720p HD movies. However, it can only shoot still photos at a maximum of 9 megapixels, which is a lower resolution than the Casio Exilim EX-Z1200’s 12 megapixels, for example. Nevertheless, the EX-FC100 continues to astound its users and all these great features are available simply with the press of a single button on the camera.
