How To Set Up a Dome Tent: A Step-by-Step Guide
By Jason • Aug 13th, 2009 • Category: OutdoorsSetting up a dome tent is not a big deal it just requires practice and concentration. A dome tent generally has the capacity of 3 to 4 people. Each and every dome tent has two main poles that are crossed in the centre. Additionally, there is another short pole provided with it. The first step in setting up the tent is unfolding the ground cloth provided with it. After unfolding the ground cloth start unfolding the tent.
Then start assembling the poles of the tent by shaking the pole sections into its original place. Whilst not as easy as putting up a pop up tent, you will find pitching dome tents is not that difficult either. While shaking the poles of the dome tent just make sure that no one is standing near you otherwise they could get hurt. Then, start the pole sliding through the pole sleeves from one corner to the other. After sliding first thread the poles before attaching them to the corner pockets of the dome tent. Then attach the poles to the corner pocket with the help of a friend. Now put the rain fly that would protect you from unexpected rains. The fly pole is put into the sleeve and the other end is put in the pocket.
If there is any excess ground cloth visible then fold the cloth neatly underneath the tent. If the excess ground cloth is not neatly folded and it rains then water would directly come into the tent and spoil your camping trip. After making sure that everything is done properly then you could consider your dome tent to be complete. After completing above mentioned instructions thoroughly check each and everything.
